Presentation:
Snow White is famously known as being "fairest in the land" no matter what story canon you take her from. A classic beauty, Snow White was born with ebony black hair and warm red lips and skin as white a snow. Her namesake was given to her because of the harsh winter that she was born into. Something beautiful even in the hardest of times.

But fairness does not only apply to physical beauty.

No, despite her undeniably lovely appearance, it is the kindness in her heart that makes Snow White fairest of all. Intelligent, polite, but most of all, a good person, Snow White is also the daughter of a king, and a natural born leader. A young woman literally born to rule. A princess in a beautiful kingdom, Snow White had the childhood that every little girl dreams of having. A loving family. A beautiful home. She was raised by good, wise parents who wished for little else beyond the happiness of the people they ruled. And of course, the happiness of their lovely, and only daughter, Snow White.

As a princess, Snow White was raised in the public eye. She is cordial, polite, well-mannered, diplomatic. She has also been taught in many of the womanly art, as any other girl of her age and status would have been; literature, art, embroidery, music, dance, and even equestrianism. Her upbringing and social status have groomed her to be polished and well-put together. Proper dress and hair neatly done, Snow's physical appearance is often kept up to the degree of easy elegance. Never elaborate or flashy, Snow presents an air of classic beauty, and while her preference is to be neat and clean and proper, Snow will hardly make a peep of complaint about having to sacrifice one or all of those preferences for a time, if the situation calls for it.

After all... it has before.

Banished from her own kingdom by her step-mother who wants to literally rip her very heart from her chest, necessity has certainly called for Snow to get down and dirty. Scavenging for scraps and hiding in forests, living off nothing but the land and the air and the streams, Snow White may not always have every opportunity to look the part of a princess, but this never changes the way that she presents herself.

As a person, Snow White is a very open-hearted, genuine person. What you see is what you get with Snow. There is never any malice behind her words or actions. Her genuine belief in this world is that people are good. And even if they aren't entirely good, their broken, damaged bad parts can be nurtured back to good. She's inclined to trust a person than to not: innocent until proven guilty, she thinks. This is how she sees the world. Because of this, she cannot help but present herself as a gentle-heated, caring person. Because that is who she really is.

Motivations: Snow White is definitely the sort of person who wears her heart on her sleeve; exposed for all to see.

Growing up, she shared a very close relationship her mother. Queen Eva raised Snow to be humble, caring and kind. To see the happiness of others as something to be cherished and striven for, and that a good person would never do anything to harm another. Above all, Eva wanted Snow to be a good, caring person; someone that her kingdom could look up to, trust and depend on to keep safe.

When Snow was still just a girl her mother fell ill and passed away, almost suddenly, (coughcoughpoisoncough) her last words to Snow were that she was proud of her, and happy that she had raised Snow to be such a good person. Eva expected great things of her daughter. And although the death of her mother devastated Snow, she still to this day strives to live up to the expectations that her mother had for her. To be a good, kind person, through and through.

This has been a motivating force for Snow since childhood, but certainly is not her only one. Over the course her life, Snow has developed many deep, close relationships with a great many people. Her family, whatever definition needs to be to her, is extremely important, and Snow will go to the ends of the world to keep those she cares about happy and safe.

During her exile, Snow was forced to live on her own. But the world is no small place and she couldn't help but bump into others along the way. An many of these "others" came to be some of Snow's closest and dearest friends and family members.

Red Riding Hood, a young woman who helped her when she literally had nothing but the clothes on her back, and David, the man who saved her even after she'd stolen from him, are just two of the many others that Snow believes in and trusts completely. So much so, that she has literally undergone curses and spells of great magnitudes to keep them alive and safe. The infamous apple, in fact, was consumed by Snow White willingly. It's poison known to her, she eats it to seal a deal that will keep Charming alive and unharmed.

And while the willingness to place one's self in harms way in order to protect another is well and good, Snow White is not a passive person. If there is suffering, hardships or pain in anyone's life, Snow is often the first to step in and try and help. From hunting werewolves to conquering kingdoms, Snow White may be a kindhearted, good-natureed young woman, but she is also brave and intelligent and as fierce as she needs to be to make sure that as many people as possible can be happy, healthy and safe.

Rebellions don't just lead themselves, after all.

And that is exactly what Snow White eventually does. Taking back her kingdom from Queen Regina - the woman who killed her father and was responsible for the countless deaths and suffering of the people she reigned over with the power fear and a healthy dose of dark magic. Snow White comes from a world were magic is quite real, and quite powerful. Though she is not magically inclined herself, she is ultimately able to defeat a very powerful magic user (The Evil Queen) by plying to her own strengths as well as learning new valuable skills. Basic combat and weapons skills, and some fairly impressive long-range archery skills, Snow is not naive enough to believe that words and kindness will help her take over a kingdom. And she has a lot more tricks up her sleeve than a person might initially believe.

When on the run, Snow often had to resort to pickpocketing and poaching to keep herself alive and fed. Perhaps out of shame, and certainly out of fear of being found my any of the queen's soldiers, she learned the importance of stealth and the unfortunate necessity of white lies. Needless to say, Snow developed a few survival skills most princesses would never ever have the need to know. She became a fairly adept thief, and only improves with time, and has stolen things as mundane as chicken eggs all the way to highway robbery of royal jewels.

Kind-hearted, yes. But she's no pushover. When it comes down to it in the end, Snow is a very strong-willed person with a pureness in her moral compass which others find easy to believe in. Caring and selfless, she is not without her faults or boughts of selfishness. Her deep devotion to her friends and family is perhaps her largest weakness, in that she can act rashly or without much forethought, which can sometimes result in more harm than good. But she always tries. As long as she lives, she does what she can to make the world a happier, better place. not just for herself, but for as many people as possible.

And oh how she is going to hate Panem...

Prose:

She wasn't certain what to expect, but it certainly hadn't been this.

Were you supposed to be aware that you were cursed? In prior experiences it seemed to have always taken at least a bit of time to figure it out. To even know that the curse had happened to you. Even when you knew it was coming. It comes. It hits you. And then, you forget.

But she didn't forget.

She stands there in the dim strange room and remembers everything. The eerie green-purple-black smoke that swallowed the whole world. If she closes her eyes, she can still see the last image of Emma that the light her burned into her memory. Her daughter she may very well never hold or see or know.

"A world without magic"

It's the only thing she knew. And she shivered slightly as she stood there, uncomfortable in the clothes they put her in. They said pick any weapon she wanted, and though most of them stood out in particular.

The bow and arrow.

There's something strange happening to her. Something about this seems wrong. But no one will answer her questions unless she plays along, and that really seems to be the only option available to her. So, Snow White approaches the weapons bench and plucks up one silver arrow and it's matching silver bow. There is more metal here than she's used to seeing. More colour and strange lanterns with no candles and the only thing that she can think of to do is aim that sleek silver arrow at the head of a human-shaped target at the other end. Draw. Then, fire.

Pierces it straight through the heart.

They want to see how strong she is? They want her to pass this test?

Maybe it's part of the curse. Maybe this is how she gets out of this. Maybe this is how she gets to finally meet her daughter.

She won't know unless she tries.

What is your character scored: 7/8

Snow is not the demure princess of 1930's Disney. She's a queen because she took back her kingdom. She is more than capable of surviving on her own in the wilderness for significant stretches of time, is very proficient with a bow and arrow, skilled in basic hand-to-hand combat, and those are purely her physical and survival skills. She is also a very genuine, likable person who could easily win over a crowd.
